Natalie Walker, B.A. S.D.S.U. - Studio Director
In 1988, Natalie suffered a severe knee injury (shattering her patella) and was told by her physician that she would never run or jump again as the skeletal damage was too great. After years of living a sedentary lifestyle, she decided to empower her life with education in kinesiology and exercise physiology. Natalie was determined to move with less pain and better results.
Natalie began teaching popular group exercise formats like Step, Body Pump and Spinning and became a Certified Personal Trainer in the late 1990's. Despite her education and awareness of exercise movement, the excessive pounding aerobics and weight training caused left her searching for a fitness routine that would keep her fit for life without exacerbating her injury. From her first private session, she knew Pilates would sustain her fitness level, without causing greater problems to her joints.
Soon after she completed the Pilates apprenticeship, Natalie returned to school to enter the Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program at L.L.U. However, while completing her observation hours at Scripps Hospital, Encinitas CA (P.T. department), she realized how beneficial Pilates can be for those with injuries and decided to pursue a career in Pilates instead.
Natalie has worked with a vast array of individuals, many with severe physical limitations and has become very intuitive in aiding the rehabilitation process, increasing balance and strength and reducing pain in clients ranging from 12 to 88 years old. Natalie received her mat work certification through the Physical Mind Institute in February of 2002 and completed her comprehensive teacher training course from the Long Beach Dance Conditioning (LBDC) program a year later. She continues to further her education at the university level, in addition to attending workshops in the fields of Pilates and rehabilitation. |

Nicole Hunt, B.A. U.S.D. - Studio Trainer
Nicki began practicing Pilates in 2004, while attending the University of San Diego. After earning her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, she pursued her goal to work in the sports industry, and began as a marker for an online surf company. While working in the surf industry, she continued to take Pilates classes as a way to keep doing the things she loves: running, surfing, and playing volleyball. Realizing her love for keeping people active, versus just being a part of the sports industry, she began her Pilates certification through BASI, completing her training in 2010.
"I feel lucky to have found something that I am truly passionate about at an early age; that I can do every day, for the rest of my life. My goal is to share that passion for Pilates with my clients, having every one enjoy both the benefits, and practice, of Pilates.” |

Caroline Field, B.A. U.S.F. - Studio Apprentice
Caroline has been a long time student of both dance and gymnastics. Starting in her youth and continuing through high school and college she excelled in cheerleading and was recruited by the LA Clippers Cheerleading squad for a season after moving to California.
Caroline graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Sociology, after which, she completed a postgraduate medical program, becoming a Neurodiagnotic Technician specializing in brain and spinal cord surgical monitoring and post rehab neurological testing. After years of working in the hospital system in Florida and North Carolina, Caroline decided to relocate to the West coast.
Caroline has continued to pursue her passion for dance, gymnastics and fitness in almost every craze and modality offered, yet after years of high/low impact aerobics, dance, weight trainig and running, she began experiencing the toll that years of excessive impact and overtraining can produce. Looking for an alternative exercise program that would offer results without the definitive threat of injury she found Pilates - and an incredible trainer by the name of Natalie Walker. At first skeptical as to what this seemingly “simple” form of exercise would deliver, she quickly began to see incredible results and realized that Pialtes offered everything she was looking for, without the negative effects. After training with Natalie for over 8 years, Caroline decided to enroll in the comprehensive Pilates certification to share this incredible method with others. Caroline has completed her Mat and Trap Table certifications through the Pilates Studio of Los Angeles and is working to complete her comprehensive Pilates Apparatus Certification. She is currently completing her observation, assistant and practice teaching and self practice requirements as an apprentice at EHF Pilates. |
